What is Parliamentary Document
A parliamentary document is a document that is produced by a parliament or legislature. Parliamentary documents can take many different forms, including :
  • Debates: These are the records of the discussions in parliament. They can be a valuable source of information on the views of different members of parliament on a particular issue.
  • Bills: These are the proposed laws that are considered by parliament. They can provide insights into the government's legislative agenda and the priorities of different political parties
  • Reports: These are the documents that parliamentary committees produce. They can provide in-depth analysis of particular issues or areas of government policy.
  • Speeches: These are the addresses that are given by members of parliament, ministers, and other government officials. 
  • Orders: These are the instructions that are issued by parliament to its committees or to the government

What is Parliament Digital Library
It is a digital repository of parliamentary documents of Lokh Sabha. Around 11,44107 papers from the years 1854 to the present are housed in the platfrom. Its holdings also include the Reports of several parliamentary committees, presidential addresses to parliament, budget speeches, and several Lok Sabha Secretariat publications. Additionally, the priceless and historic legislative debates from 1854 to 1952, spanning a period of 99 years and charting the establishment and evolution of contemporary parliamentary institutions in India, have been digitalized.
